LOCATION: ROCKVILLE, MD

RT Studio undertook the revitalization of the Family room and Master Suite in, a mid-Century gem that had unfortunately been marred by a 1980s addition. Charged with breathing new life into these spaces, the design team embraced the challenge with creativity and finesse.

To infuse light and create a visually striking feature, RT Studio installed a Shoji-like wall in the connecting stairs, illuminating the space and adding an elegant touch. This thoughtful addition not only serves a practical purpose but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the entire area. In the Master Bedroom, this architectural feature continues to play a transformative role, allowing natural light to flood the room and creating a serene and welcoming ambiance.

The Master bath underwent a delightful transformation, evolving into a dynamic and enjoyable space designed to cater to the client's needs. The introduction of separate zones within the bathroom accommodates the varying demands of different times of the day, ensuring functionality and comfort. This thoughtful design approach reflects RT Studio's commitment to creating spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly practical and tailored to the unique lifestyles of its clients.

In parallel, the lower level guest suite of the original house received a meticulous renovation that maintained the architectural style. This included updating the bathroom furniture to seamlessly blend with the overall design, ensuring continuity and cohesiveness throughout the residence. RT Studio's attention to detail and commitment to preserving the essence of the home's original character shines through in this thoughtful renovation.

Externally, the house underwent a contemporary transformation with a fresh coat of gray paint. This simple yet impactful change provides a modern and updated look to the exterior, aligning it with contemporary design sensibilities. The choice of gray serves as a neutral backdrop, allowing the architectural features and landscaping to take center stage, creating a visually appealing and harmonious facade.

In essence, RT Studio's intervention not only rectified the drawbacks of the 1980s addition but also elevated the entire residence to new heights of style, functionality, and contemporary elegance.
