VISUAL DISCOVERY

The Problem

It is not uncommon for our clients to know they want to build their home in a certain way, although unclear how best to start. Or, to launch into expensive design services without carefully establishing the groundwork for the project.

Just as you would not expect your doctor to prescribe a medication for you without first diagnosing your illness, likewise, it is very risky to begin design without first understanding your project’s unique objectives and parameters.

It is for this reason that we have developed the Needs and Options Review, a necessary first step to establishing the basis of your project.

The Promise

The Visual Discovery allows you to fully understand the requirements, constraints, and potential roadblocks for your project, and includes the following:

• Minimizes your risk of faulty design decisions by laying the proper groundwork upfront

• Allows you to create the proper foundation for a project, saving money in the long run

• Allows you to explore your goals for the project in a structured format

• Helps us determine if this working relationship is a fit for both parties before fully committing to further design services

The Process

The Needs and Options Review is a structured process that includes the following:

• Meet to discuss your preliminary objectives for the project

• Review site options and identify regulatory issues

• Discuss the functional viability of the project and your ideas

• Explore potential spatial relationships, connections, and future-proofing options

The Outcome

A Visual Discovery report that you can use to get an accurate proposal from us or any other architect - it is yours to keep.

The Visual Discovery report includes the following:

• Assistance on choosing a lot or a property to build and/or renovate your house

• Basic Survey and Site constraints analysis

• Rough order of magnitude construction budget for the project

• Schedule of Services and fee proposal for the next stages of the project

• Follow-up meeting to discuss the report and next steps
