TYPE OF PROJECT: RENOVATION AND ADDITION

LOCATION: NORTH BETHESDA, MD

A suburban split-level reimagined as a mid-century modern home for a growing family who wanted more space, more light, and a stronger connection to their wooded backyard.

The design adds a new wing above the existing structure — expanding the master suite and creating room for the family to grow. The main floor opens fully to the landscape through a new indoor-outdoor living area, bringing the mid-century ethos of inside-outside living back to a house that had lost it. Terraced outdoor spaces step down toward the woods, creating distinct zones for entertaining and quiet retreat.

The project was designed pre-Covid and was not built. The renderings and walkthrough video below show the full vision as it was intended.
