From Choppy to Connected,
A Whole Home Renovation
"We have what feels like a completely new home. We love the space and flow and feel like it's everything we wanted." — A.T., Rockville, MD
The Challenge : "We didn't have enough storage space and our house was choppy and felt old. We didn't like our house and felt like we were living somewhere we didn't want to be."
The Design Amy's home had grown organically over the decades through a series of additions — the result was a choppy, disconnected layout that felt small despite its actual size. Rather than adding more square footage, we looked at what was already there. By removing the second floor roof and rebuilding within the same perimeter, we were able to completely reimagine the volume and flow of the home. The first floor spaces were opened up and connected, creating the natural gathering center the family had always wanted. The basement was fully revamped to add usable family space. A new entrance canopy and front yard redesign — currently under construction — will complete the transformation from the street.
The Result : "Sometimes I can't believe I'm living here. I feel so lucky. The best decision we could have made was renovating the entire house and choosing Damian."

A Home That Finally Fits
"We are now feeling happy and relaxed that we have the space and that our house is still modern and filled with light." — K.A., Rockville MD
The Challenge: "Our home was too small for our growing family and we were stressed about the limited space. We needed an extra room for our newborn, a bigger kitchen for entertaining and cooking, and a basement for our kids to play."
The Design The Upton St family needed more than square footage — they needed space that would genuinely change how they lived. We designed a two-story addition tucked along the side and behind the existing home, invisible from the street yet transformative inside. A new expanded kitchen became the heart of the home — space to cook together, for kids to do homework at the counter, for gatherings that flow naturally. A courtyard and covered patio porch brought light into spaces that once felt enclosed. Upstairs, a new bedroom and bath solved the practical puzzle every growing family faces. The transition between old and new dissolves completely. It simply works.
The Result: "The results have been wonderful. We have the extra space we needed and our house is still modern and filled with light. We are happy and relaxed that we have the space and that our family is taken care of."
