Tilden Park House
Modern Addition · North Bethesda, MD
Bringing the woods in
This ranch backed directly onto the woods, but the house barely knew it.
A two-part addition opens the back with a full glass facade and a new deck. The kitchen moved to face the view, and a new skylit stair leads up to a master suite among the treetops.
Wood, glass and stucco keep it modern but grounded. At night, the glass wall glows like a lantern in the trees.
